| LAMINATION |
| a) |
If
using pressure sensitive laminates, allow the glue bond to fully harden
for at least 8 hours, before inserting into the cassette - ideally
24 hours |
| b) |
For
the ultimate results, use the 'sledge' laminating technique eg apply
mounting film to a board at least 10 cm larger than the banner but
leave the release liner in place. Laminate the banner to the board,
allow the glue to harden for as long as possible, then remove, trim
and insert into the cassette, ideally 2/3 hours on the board, 24 hours
before rolling into the cassette. |

| LAMINATION
- ALL MEDIA TYPES |
To
ensure an image is permanently bonded to the laminate, it is essential
to avoid over-inking the media.
A simple test is to sight the media obliquely to the light. If the
areas of heavy CMYK coverage are of a different, more matt texture
to the rest of the print, the ink limits are too high. More importantly,
the laminate will not stick as well to such areas. Finally it is critical
the medi ais full dry. Allow 2-3 hours on very heavily inked images
BEFORE laminating. Do not store unlaminated media in a damp, unheated
room - it will pick up moisture and prevent a good bond. |
